… imaginative interpretation of the stimulus … Comments / descriptions / indications / diagrams which help show and/or clarify the creative process from stimulus to performance concept to vision to performance proposal
… performance concept … Statement of guiding principle used to inform all artistic choices in the performance proposal – not to be confused with themes/messages/issues etc.
… genuine response to the stimulus and its potential for dramatic interpretation … Comments / descriptions / indications/diagrams – possibly undeveloped – of how dramatic tension / climax / etc. can be drawn from the stimulus content. Examples / comments / sketches / etc. about other ways of interpreting / devising from / staging the stimulus. These may be partially undeveloped or undeveloped or ideas.
… understanding of production elements … Informed references to production elements, presented in appropriate theatre language and format (plots, plans, swatches, etc.)
… how production elements function in performance … Demonstration through sketches, diagrams, plots, plans, storyboards, annotations collages, etc. of coherent (with the performance concept), justified choices for the use of the elements of production for this performance proposal.
… understanding of practical effects of Philosophical rationale; Socio-historical influences; Traditional/cultural influences or Possible impacts and resonances of the proposed performance … Discussion showing understanding of research / theory and specific example(s) of the practical effects of the philosophical rationale, socio-historical influences; traditional / cultural influences in the process of artistic choice. If a narrative plot has been created then not this but rather the practical effects (specific examples) of philosophical rationale should be the focus of the report, for example, socio-historical influences; traditional / cultural influences on the proposed performance. In the case of impacts and resonances, not only the desired impact or resonance should be explained but also how these are intended to be brought about through the use of artistic choices of practical effects.
